It is of course just a creation myth and not a historical text. Exploring and revealing such questions helps us to step back and come to terms with the insight that it is just a story and not a literal truth.

Sadly, while some still can’t make that leap, most now can, and those that can’t no longer grab hold of those of us that do and set fire to us. They are just a minority now and don’t get to do that anymore. (Phew!)
